Suboxone Treatment and Detox - Withdrawal, Abuse and Addiction

Drug dependance, abuse, and addiction affect all of our lives, whether we are the ones afflicted with the condition, have family, friends, co-workers, employers, or employees that fall prey to the seduction of substance abuse. More and more we are seeing more "Normal People" with deeply hidden drug addictions that would mean an end to a lifelong career, destruction of a family, or even jail and prison if word ever got out These powerful drugs are everywhere, just look in your medicine cabinet in the bathroom and there is a good chance that you have prescription medication just sitting there, either for use (or abuse) by yourself, or they might as well be "free samples" for any guest using your bathroom with a predisposition to drug abuse.

Prescription drugs

You keep taking the pills because they allow you to work, to sleep, to function, to feel well, to feel young again. And it is just so easy to take one more pill than your prescription calls for, and one more, and one more. Before you know it, you cannot live without them. It is a vicious cycle but there is a way out. There is not only hope, but a real treatment option, tailored just for you, your lifestyle, your job, and your discretion. No one need ever know but what is important, is that you get the help you know you need, and get it fast. I took the drug, the drug took effect, and the drug took me.

Suboxone Prescription

Only those physicians who have approval from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) are able to start in-office treatment and provide prescriptions for ongoing medication. The Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) maintains an active database to help patients locate qualified doctors.

Maintenance therapy

Although Suboxone can be used for detoxification, its intended use is for maintenance. The ideal candidate for maintenance therapy with Suboxone is an older individual who has previously been on drugs but now has a job and wants a stable lifestyle. The individual previously has failed detoxification and wants to live a simple life without the daily cravings of his previous addiction. The majority of past drug users immediately adjust to Suboxone as the cravings disappear immediately and a smoother life style are accessible. .

Side Effects

The most common reported side effect of Suboxone includes:

  • Cold or flu-like symptoms
  • Headaches
  • Sweating
  • Insomnia
  • Nausea
  • Mood swings
  • Pain
  • Restlessness

Like other opioids, Suboxone have been associated with respiratory depression (difficulty breathing) especially when combined with other depressants.

Cautions

Intravenous use of Suboxone usually in combination with benzodiazepines or other CNS depressants has been associated with significant respiratory depression and death. Suboxone has the potential for abuse and produces dependence of the opioid type with a milder withdrawal syndrome than full agonists. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of Suboxone use in pregnancy. Due caution should be exercised when driving cars or operating machinery.

No more excuses, no more pain, no more poverty. Seek the help and relief that you need for yourself and for those you love. Do it for the kids, do it for the spouse, do it for the family, but please dear Lord, just do it now...
